Week 8: 10/19 - 10/23

Nutrition & Fitness

Students will compare and contrast anaerobic vs aerobic activities.
Students will complete various activities and learn how to take their heart rate.
Students will calcuate their maximum heart rate and target heart rate and describe the importance of working out in this zone.
Students will increase their cardiovascular endurance by walking 2.8 miles twice a week.

Monday: WALK
Tuesday: Aerobic vs Anaerobic notes and group activity
Wednesday: Target Heart Rate Activity (dress comfortably)
Thursday: Fitness Group Review & Fitness Quiz
Friday: WALK

Ed Careers

Students will compare and contrast a career as a teacher vs a career as a paraeducator.
Students will increase their understanding about the career of education by interning in an elementary classroom.

Monday: At elementary site
Tuesday: At elementary site
Wednesday: Career Comparision (Teacher vs Paraeducator) in computer lab--due next Wednesday
Thursday: At elementary site
Friday: At elementary site


Teaching Academy

Students will use proper observation techniques (including objective statements and inferences) while observing in 4-6 classrooms and junior high classrooms.
Students will study the developmental milestones of students ages 10-18.

Monday: 4-6 Observations
Tuesday: 4-6 Observations
Wednesday: Discuss observation essays, finish PIES charts
Thursday: Junior High Observations
Friday: Junior High Observations

  2. Observations went quite well. It's interesting to see the different grade levels and how the students interact with the teacheres differently. Observing the different enviroments were good to take in. Some were really welcoming, others were a little cold and just felt like 4 walls.
