Nutrition & Fitness
Students will be able to state the main functions of carbohydrates and the importance for bodily function.
Students will list foods high in carboydrates and define whether they are simple vs complex.
Students will keep track of their carbohydrate and fiber intake for 24 hours and make inferences based on their eating habits.
Students will increase their cardiovascular endurance by walking 2.8 miles twice a week.
Monday: 2.8 mile walk

Ed Careers
Students will listen to guest speakers in the career of education.
Studetns will compare and contrast the career of a school psychologist with a speech and language pathologist, determining which career they are more interested in.
Students will increase their understanding about the career of education by interning in an elementary classroom.
Monday: At elementary site

Wednesday: Jobs in education guest speakers (Mrs Lowe-Psychologist, Mrs. Johnston-SLP)
Thursday: At elementary site
Friday: At elementary site (we are on a Pep Assembly schedule, so be back by 12:45pm)
Teaching Academy
Students will use proper observation techniques (including objective statements and inferences) while observing in a high school classroom.
Students will be able to write a lesson plan using basic techniques taught in class.
Students will use varying levels of Bloom's taxonomy to come up with effective objectives for their lesson plans.
Monday: H.S Observation
Tuesday: Complete all PIES charts, questions on observation write-ups (K-3, 4-6 due tomorrow)
Wednesday: Lesson planning notes
Thursday: Bloom's taxonomy, writing objectives
Friday: Share observation stories, Harvest party--bring treats!
